HAULS BOOTy!
THE WINNERS AND PICTURES 2005!!
The Great Castell Kayak Race on June 4th was bigger than
ever.
84 boaters entered the water at 9:40 Am from Keller's beautifully
groomed beach as the gatlin gun roared off into the sunrise.
The race was 12 miles and ended in Castell where all the boaters were
greeted with water, bbq, Dr. Pepper, cheers and live music. The
organizers were extremely impressed with the tenacity of the racers
since the river was running 700-800 CFS!
The first place prize was quickly won by Richard Step with 1:47, (elapsed time) Second place was Bob Spain with 1:55 Third place Mike Brenne at 2:05 1st Woman- Karen Smith@ 2:11 These are awesome times for a twelve mile run! |

The surprise of the day was the RIVER! She came up once at about 4 Am
and then again starting about 3:30 PM. We heard some incredible stories..
